Chirkila Dam

Chirkila Dam is located at a distance of 20 kilometers from Dharchula. The dam has built over the River Kali. The dam has been maintained to generate 1500 kWH energy for local villages. Further, the government of the state is being considered as a source to deliver for water sport facilities. The buses and cab services are effortlessly available from Almora and Pithoragarh for travelling to Chirkila Dam.

Askot Musk Deer Sanctuary

Askot Musk Deer Sanctuary is situated 54 kilometers away from Pithoragarh near Didihat in Uttrakhand, India. The establishment of the sanctuary was based on the primary objective of conserving the Musk Deer and its habitat. Till now, the sanctuary authorities have taken immense initiatives to protect the other rare species like Bengal Tiger, Indian Leopard, Himalayan Jungle Cat, Goral, brown beer, barking deer, and Serow. The best time to visit the sanctuary is between April to September. You can catch a train to Tanakpur or travel by roadways from Pithoragarh to Tanakpur and then take a cab or bus to the sanctuary.

Narayan Ashram

Narayan Ashram is situated at a distance of 129 kilometers from Pithoragarh. The ashram stands at an altitude of 2734 meters. It was established by Narayan Swami in the year 1936. The ashram is prominently known for a trio of spiritual, social, and educational conducts. The flowers surrounding the ashram are in full bloom, and the ashram itself houses a meditation room as well as a library. Here, you can relax and meditate in the lap of nature, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. To reach Narayan Ashram from Dharchula, you can take a motorable road up to Tawaghat which is 19 kilometers away from Dharchula.

Arjuneshwar Temple

Arjuneshwar Temple is located at a distance of 10 kilometers from Pithoragarh, U.K.The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and named after Arjuna. As per Hindu mythology, the temple was built by Arjuna the great warrior and the supreme archer. The temple is located at an altitude of 6000 meters and is an amazing location for trekkers as it is surrounded by many of Dharchula’s main attractions. Apart from these places, there are many other sights to see in Dharchula. You can enjoy the beauty of nature with river edge camp bases like Adi Kailash base camp. You can also visit sacred lakes including Parvati Lake and Gaurikund and so on.
