How to prepare for Yatra?

The yatra is considered to be an important ritual among Hindus to attain enlightenment or spiritual liberation or Nirvana for the lifetime. In Hinduism, the abodes of Lord Shiva are prominently known for the attainment of eternal peace of mind. The trek to Adi Kailash or Om Parvat is an option which stays open in few months of the year. Because of the loose snow and rock conditions, the location stays closed for visiting, camping, and trekking. Here are a few guidelines on how to prepare for Adi Kailash Yatra—
1. Exercise daily for a few months before planning the yatra One must have enough stamina to trek to the base camps of Adi Kailash or Om Parvat. Sometimes, people who have lesser strength feel exhausted and are unable to make it to the mountain base within the given time. Apart from this, lack of stamina can cause various temporary health issues like pain in the joints. Hence, daily exercise is recommended. You can start by walking and then proceed to running and swimming. 2. Practice carrying weight Since the location of the mountain is perfect for trekking there is a chance that you will not experience a tireless trip to Adi Kailash or Om Parvat. This is why you must gain some strength to carry some weight throughout the trek. Apart from this, camping is also an adventure that one can experience while visiting Adi Kailash and Om Parvat. 3. Medical Check-ups One must be fit and fine before executing a trip to Adi Kailash or Om Parvat. Undoubtedly, the locations are steep and are great for trekking expeditions. Hence, anyone with imbalanced blood sugar level and cholesterol level is advised to drop the plan. It is essential to get a complete medical check-up done before you head for Adi Kailash or Om Parvat Yatra. 4. Have yourself examined for Asthma or High Blood Pressure If you are a patient of asthma or high blood pressure, this trip is not ideal for you. There are a lot of health risks that come with these health conditions. Too much movement or regular walking can cause severe health damage to patients. Hence, don’t take such a risk. Om Parvat and Adi Kailash are sacred pilgrimages which are at high altitude and situated among the Himalayan Mountain Range. Before planning the Yatra, you must acknowledge the risks involved and the altitude of nature in the Himalayan range.
